Global Warming

Mohammed Ahmed
Mohammed started the presentation by introducing himself and identifying the topic that he wanted to talk about.
First, he talked about the causes of this problem which are greenhouse gases and human activities . Then he talked about the consequences which are climate change which affects the temperature . There is also an Increase in the natural disasters like storms, hurricanes and flooding .
Then, Mohammed show us some of the solutions to this problem which are reducing the human activities like industry and using the clean energy like wind and solar energy. Also, the governments should play an active role to reduce the pollution from different things.
Finally, students asked some questions like what is the best way to reduce the pollution and what is the best method which could reduce the pollution and he answered the questions.

Reflection

Venice
Mohammed introduced the subject, and talked about the location and the different transportation that they use there; then Abdullah continued and talked about the history of the city and the architectural buildings.
The slides were good so we can understand from them what they wanted to talk about. They spoke quietly with clear language and information.
Finally Mr. Hedley asked them some historical questions and they answered them; also the students added some questions about the hotels and airport. Both students answered the questions clearly, based on good knowledge about the subject.

Meeting Minutes

Members: - Omar, Rashed, and Yousef
Agenda:-
· Teenage drivers.
· Careless drivers.
· Drivers from different cultures.
· Different ages.
· How the department of transport can help in keeping roads safe.
The chairman Rashed started the meeting at 8:15 am.
1- Teenager drivers: Yousef said that drivers in these ages are usually reckless; Omar said they do not have enough knowledge; Rashed wondered how to enrich their knowledge.
2- Careless drivers were the second topic to talk about. Rashed thinks we should set strict fines; Yousef thinks that the fines are good but how to get careless drivers to follow the rules.
3- Drivers from different cultures: Omar said because the rules are different from one country to another, the foreign drivers make mistakes sometimes. Yousef thinks they need to get some training, but Rashed thinks it’s not a serious problem.
4- Drivers with different ages: Rashed said young drivers get angry with old drivers as old drivers get angry with them; Yousef thought we can manage this problem by training.
5- How the department of transport can help keeping roads safe: Omar sees that the DOT is working all the time to keep the roads safe. Rashed said in the last month Abu Dhabi recorded a high number of accidents because of the sand. Yousef talked about closing the roads.
1- We should focus on theory lessons to increase the knowledge of teenagers which can be done by schools and at Emirates driving school.
2- Fines are good now but we will ask the police department to Intensify police patrols.
3- Foreign drivers and even local drivers will enroll in courses to let everyone know who is next to him in the road and how to avoid others’ mistakes.
4- The theory classes will be mixed with different ages so they understand each other.
5- We will ask the department of transport to get ready for emergencies and provide other options if there are instructions which must be done on any road.
Reflection on meeting
Early on the Tuesday morning Rashed , Omar and Yousef started the meeting which is about car accidents in the UAE by running through the agenda which are teenage drivers, careless drivers, drivers from different cultures, different ages and how the department of transport can help in keeping roads safe. There was participation with different ideas on each point. As a result we get from the meeting different points that could help to make the roads safe. There should be more lessons for teenagers at the school which could increase their knowledge about driving. Also the police department should intensify their patrols which could help to avoid different cases of accidents on the roads. Moreover the driving schools should focus on the foreign drivers to know more about the road system . In addition, the DOT should know about what happens on the roads from different situations and make emergency roads for different cases. Finally, we got useful solutions to the problem which was discussed.

Position: Mechanical Engineer
Hedley started the interview, thanked Abdulaziz for attending and introduced Mohammed Abdulla and Omar.
Abdulaziz was invited to talk about himself .Then Mohammed Abdulla asked him about what qualifications he had and he said GPA 3.5. Where did he see himself in 3 years ? Manager in his department . Work under pressure and shifts? He said he could. After that Omar asked him about the negative things that he heard about the company and he said the location of the company is far away from the city and his home. About salary he said it was the second important thing after the position.
Finally, Abdulaziz asked about his responsibility in his work. Mohamed said it will be working with machines . Then he asked about the future position and Omar said it would depend on his reports and attendance.
Hedley thanked Abdulaziz for coming and finished the interview at 8:30.

Hedley started the interview, thanked Abdulla for coming and introduced Mohammed Abdulla and Omar
Abdulla was invited to talk about himself and he did so with a lot of information. Then he answered the questions from the interviewers like the way for success in work by preparing a good time management and about the work under pressure and shifts. He said yes, because he was working in one of ADNOC group's companies.
Finally, Abdulla asked a different question about his position in the future and about the safety of the company.
Hedley thanked him for coming and the interview finished at 8:55

Position: Sales Representative
Hedley started the interview , and invited him to talk about himself and he did so. Then the interviewers asked him different questions for example, could you work at weekends and nights and he said at night he could but weekends he couldn’t . Also one of the questions was why would you want to work in this company and he said because of the new technology in the fixing system and the history of the company that he heard about. About the greatest strengths he said motivation because he is creative when he does some things he loves. Then Mohammed asked him about working under pressure and he said yes and he told them about submitting several projects in a short time when he was student in the 3rd year at the HCT.
Finally, Saleh asked about the training course for him and Ahmed said there would be a training program for 6 months. Then Hedley thanked him and finished the interview at 9:15

Position: Chemical Supervisor
Hedley started the interview , and asked Hamdan to talk about himself and he did so. Then the interviewers asked him different questions like why do you want to work in this company and he said because he heard it is a good company; also they asked about could you work under pressure and he answered yes because he was working in the clinic before at the weekend; also the greatest weaknesses he said was when the team worked without sharing information. Then Yousef asked him why should we hire you and he said because he can do a job and he could work under pressure . After that he was asked about his goal and he answered he wanted to be a manager in his department . Finally, he was asked about the negative things about the company and he said about the night shift .
Hedley thanked him for coming and closed the interview at 8:40
